Early Childcare Assistant
Many children are being brought up in two-income households or by single working parents. This opens up a market for childcare professionals.
Our Early Childcare Assistant program at the Everest College - Toronto College Park campus prepares those who would like to pursue a career in childcare. You will build an understanding in areas such as child development, communication skills, health and safety, and program planning.
Early Childcare Assistant Courses
This short-term program will prepare you with the skills and education necessary to seek entry-level work in the childcare industry. You will learn about toddler development, role playing, observation approaches, encouraging children, dramatic play, plan development, child abuse, nutrition, CPR, first aid and other essential topics. Program courses include:
- Introduction to Prenatal and Infant Development
- Introduction to Child Development
- Observation Skills
- Guiding Children
- Child, Family, and Community
- Introduction to Early Childcare and Education
- Communication
- Health and Safety
- Nutrition
- Introduction to Toddler Development
In addition to these courses, you will also take a career and employment strategies course that will provide techniques on job interviewing, resume preparation, writing thank-you letters and job search management.
